Doubts

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye
Memory Verse: “And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Matthew 14:31. Scripture: Matthew 14:23-33
Introduction
Peter is not alone. Everyone experiences doubts and fears from time to time. We wonder. We think. We question. We can be frightened. That in itself is no sin. Then we resolve. The “how” and “what” of our resolution is what matters. That is why faith in God is so important. It is the currency of heaven. It can be great, small, weak or strong. It can grow, diminish or even be lost. Without faith, it is impossible to please God or have our prayers answered, Hebrews 11:6, Mk.11:24.
Articles Of Faith
Faith is un-shakeable and always abounding. Doubts toss us to and fro like a reed in the shifting currents of life, but faith is the rock that holds us fast, even when everything seem uncertain or shifting, Jam.1:5-7. Doubt is driven by our physical senses, our previous experiences and disturbing stories, Jn.20:24-29, 1 Cor.15:58, Num.13:27-33; 14:22-23. Satan’s strategy is to cause us to doubt and question our faith in God’s love, power, wisdom and faithfulness. In a very subtle manner, he sows seeds of doubts and asks us to walk by sight alone. He afflicts with optical illusion and warped perception. This is deadly and dangerous, Num.13:31-33. Doubt sinks in the storms of life, Matthew 14:28-30. It is tragic that the faith of many have been ship wrecked by evil reports, Deut.32:20, Mk.4:40.
The Foundation
We all have to believe in something or someone. Faith in anything or anyone outside God is sin. Christ is the solid rock of our foundation and fundamental to all Christian service, Mk.11:22-24; Heb.11:6; Jam.1:6-7; 1 Jn.5:4-5. Our faith in Christ is what sets us apart, Heb.10:23. Absence of faith can hinder God and cost us dearly. Whatever we see, hear or think either feeds our faith or fuels our doubt. Be very selective in your choices and guard your heart with all due diligence, for out of it come the issues of life, Pro.4:20-23.
Conclusion
Let’s use Peter as a case study. He accepted the invitation of our Lord Jesus in great faith, and he defied gravity by walking on water. As soon as he stepped out of the boat, the wind became boisterous and caused him to fear. He began to sink. He cried out and the Lord intervened. Is your faith shaky today? Cry out and the Lord will arise to help you in Jesus’ name, Heb.10:35.

First fruits

First fruits

By Pastor Enoch Adeboye   |   15 January 2017   |   3:20 am

Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memory Verse: “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase,” Proverbs 3:9.
Bible Passage: Exodus 13:1, 12-15
Introduction
The doctrine of first fruits in scripture is multifaceted. The common thread is the principle of putting God first in all things and at all times. We know He is the first and the last. When we put Him first we are only aligning ourselves with eternal truth and getting our priority right. It is in our best interest and highly profitable.
Types
• The first fruit of increase – Pro.3:9-10. Here the first increase received over the previous sums or amounts or state is dedicated to God as an expression of gratitude and a mark of honour.
• The first fruit of sacrifice – Genesis 22. Here we sacrifice and give up the most precious thing, person or possession to God. It is giving your best and your all to God. God asked Abraham to give Him his only biological son, Isaac, who Abraham loved ever so dearly. Usually there is no safety net or real prospect of replacement in the natural. It might be the entire first salary in a new year or in a new job. God responds in different ways. – Gen.22:15-18.
• Redemption of the first male child – Ex.13:13; 34:20; Num.18:15-19. The first male child belongs to God. You have to give him up to God or redeem him. Failure to redeem is often responsible for a lot of the problems with the first son.
Benefits
The story and testimony of Abraham is one of the most telling illustrations of the inevitable blessing of putting God first – Gen.22:15-18. God really promoted and prospered Abraham. God is not partial or a respecter of persons. He respects principles and looks at the heart. Abraham honoured God and he was mightily blessed – Gen.24:35-36. Hannah honoured God with Samuel and she had five more children – 1 Sam.2:21. Solomon honoured the Lord with a thousand burnt offerings at the beginning of his reign as the king of Israel. God visited him and blessed him with money and wisdom – 1 Kgs.3:3-14.
Conclusion
Our attitude to the doctrine of first fruit reveals the place of God in our hearts. Like in all other instances, here, God just wants to set us up for stupendous blessings. It is left for us to put Him where He belongs in our affairs or set up and worship an idol in His place. You will honour and serve God all the days of your life in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!

Memory Verse: “…Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9b Bible Passage: Revelation 19:1-14
Introduction
Marriage, here, symbolises the union between Christ and the Church – Eph.5: 22-32. It is important to note that the second coming of Christ is the next event after the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. May the Holy Spirit teach us and bless us richly, as we look at this topic in detail, Dan.7: 13; 1 Tim.6: 14; Acts 1:10-11.
The Marriage
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb is the consummation of the union between Christ and the Church, Eph.5: 27; Rev.19: 1-14; Matt.22: 1-14; Matt.25: 1-13. It is one of the greatest Biblical prophetic events. It will take place before the second coming of Christ. Christ is the groom, while the living church, made up of all saints through the ages, living or dead, is the bride. They will experience the first resurrection, Rev.21: 2, 2:9-10.

The Significance
• To assemble all saints for the last supper with Christ.
• To present the just of all ages to God, the Father.
• To wipe away tears of the saints.
• To remove the saints before the anti-Christ.
• To remove the saints before the tribulation. The Qualification
Only those that belong to Christ are qualified, 2 Cor.5: 17, eagerly waiting for His second coming, Matt.25: 1-13. They will be patient and focused, refusing to be distracted by or entangled with the affairs of this world. Holiness will be their highest priority and pleasing God at all times their unwavering goal, Matt.21: 10-14; Rev.21: 8-27; Heb.12: 14. As citizens of heaven, their wedding garment will be white without spot or wrinkle, Rev.22: 14-15; Eph.2: 16; Matt.7: 21-23. The qualified must be willing to pay the ultimate price.
Conclusion
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb, like all Biblical prophecies, will be fulfilled. Are you saved? Are you a member of His living church? Do you earnestly desire to be the bride of Christ? You cannot afford to miss it. Pray to God for mercy, grace and strength. Jesus wants to see you at the marriage supper of the lamb. The question is, are you willing to rearrange your priorities and make the sacrifices? We will meet you there in the mighty name of Jesus.

Restitution

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye
Memory Verse: “And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.” Luke 19:8
Bible Passage: Luke 19:1-10.
Introduction
God’s commands are always in our best interest. Restitution is no exception. It enables us follow peace with all men and allows us to live holy lives. It is an act of putting things right and in good order, so that it will be well with us. It is divine restoration.
What Is Restitution?
RESTITUTION, we reiterate, is the act of putting right what is wrong and repairing or making good any loss. This is a very important step for every believer. The doctrine is common to all dispensations.
Dispensations
Restitution is not a new doctrine. It has been in practice even before the law. Moses gave certain laws of restitution, Lev.6: 1-6, 24:21; Num. 5: 6-8; Ex.22: 1-5. The doctrine was mainstream during the era of the kings and prophets, 2 Sam.12: 1-6; 2 Kgs. 8:1-6 right down to the Church age. Its continued acceptance during the life of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ was unbroken at the dawn of the new testament down the ages till today, Lk. 19:8-10; Philem. 1:7-12.
The Blessings of Restitution
Genuine restitution will ensure:
Favour from God, Lk.2: 52.
Speedy answers to prayers, Lk.11: 9.
Fearlessness, Ps.27: 1.
Healing, Ps.107: 20.
Anointing for exploits, Acts 10:38.
Protection, Ps.105: 15.
Heavenly provisions, Ps.132: 15-16.
As long as someone is hurting or suffering on account of our wrong acts, or omissions, we will experience delays, setbacks and come across obstacles. The hindrance holding us back is often caused by the wrong we committed even before salvation.
Conclusion
Restitution is an avenue to make your ways right with your fellow man, while salvation makes your ways right with God. One is not complete without the other. You cannot claim to love God and grievously offend man made in His image. This is consistent with the golden rule; Do unto others, as you want others to do unto you. We decree true deliverance and freedom into your life in Jesus name. God bless you.

Divine favour

By Pastor Enoch Adeboye   |   11 December 2016   |   4:30 am

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye
Memory Verse: “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women,” Luke 1:28. Bible Passage: Genesis 18:3-24
Introduction
Divine favour is being singled out by God for special treatment. It is at His exclusive and unquestionable bidding and pleasure. It means you have somehow found favour with Him against all odds. The natural laws and normal course of events are altered, cancelled or suspended just for you. You will either be pulled out of the line or your line will become unique and different from others. You will either standout or be outstanding.
Divine Favour
Divine favour is beholding the good side of God’s face and joy – Num.6:25-26. The Lord will make His face glow towards you and His countenance will be favourable towards your cause – Pro.16:15. It will dispel darkness and gloom and give you light, life and joy wrapped up in peace – Ps.30:5. He will affectionately wipe away your tears and give you fresh early morning Dew of Hermon. You will be preferred. It will pour out abundant mercy where required – Ps. 44:3. His unending grace will grant you all round victory – Songs 8:10. Divine Favour changes everything for good and is a great game changer. The rules of the game will be rewritten in your favour.

Conditions
Divine favour is never random. Always intentional. It is prayed in – Gen. 43:29; Num. 6:24-26; Ps. 31:16; Ps.67:1; Dan.9:17. Disobedience is always a great obstacle. – Ex.19:15; 1Jn. 3:22. We must be observant and discerning. Spiritually sensitive. Moses was called from the burning bush. He stopped. He observed. He listened with rapt attention. The Lord began to speak to him – Ex.3:3-4. Sometimes it is a covenant between the recipient’s forefathers and God – 2 Kings.13:23. Praises can instigate divine favour – Isa. 33:2. God’s presence always accompanies His favour – Jn.12:32; Ps.22:3; Jn.8:29; Acts 2:47. Outcome
Your age long foes and adversaries will clamour to sign a peace treaty with you and consummate a covenant of peace. Pro.16:7. Another result of divine favour is mercy. When God favours you, your impudence will be over looked – Gen.18:12-13. The same happened to David – 2 Sam.12:13. Divine favour restores lost grounds and restores lost hope – Jer.32:41-42. Above all, divine favour exalts the saints – Ps.89:17.
Conclusion
Ask for divine favour now. Pray that the Merciful One will not mark your iniquity. The blood of the Lamb will speak for you today and we will all be beneficiaries of divine favour in the mighty name of Jesus.
